Saddle Fit Program Costs and Schedule

This course is not for beginners or the person with a casual interest in saddlery.
This course is for serious students who are willing to work hard to master the craft of saddle fitting.
Applicants must submit an application for enrollment that includes a brief summary of their experience with horses and their reasons for taking this course.
Enrollment preference will be given to applicants with a good working knowledge of equine anatomy. It is recommended that students complete an Equine Sports Massage program prior to enrolling.
Enrollment is limited to 12 students per class.
English and Western Segments are scheduled separately throughout the year.
For 2005 the dates are:
Western Segment May 2-6, 2005, Montgomery, TX
English Segment October 24-28, 2005, Ocala,.FL
The cost of one segment of this program is $1200 for 5 days. Class runs each day from 9:00 am til 5:00 pm. Class activities will consist of classroom lecture and field work with horses and saddles.
If a student successfully completes one segment (English or Western), and signs up for the second segment (English or Western) they will receive a 25% discount on their tuition of the second segment (cost would be $900 rather than $1200).
Likewise, if a student wishes to repeat a class, they will receive a 25% discount on the cost of the segment that they are repeating.
Practical Applications of Your Professional Saddle Fit Training
There is a great need in the market for professionals who understand proper saddle fit and who can correctly perform proper saddle fit measurements and evaluations.
An individual with these skills is able to serve as an objective consultant to owners, trainers and veterinarians.
You will be an independent saddle fitter, not a saddle seller with an agenda to sell a specific brand of saddle.
Return on Investment
An initial saddle fit evaluation should take approximately 1 hour. The average charge for a saddle fit consultation, if the horse comes to you, is $125. If you have to travel, an additional trip charge is appropriate. Likewise, you would charge accordingly for follow up consultations and trips to tack stores to evaluate saddles.
At the rate of $125 per fit, you would need to do only 10 fits to recover your $1200 investment!
Professional Horsemanship
As a conscientious member of the equine industry, you owe it to yourself and your horses to incorporate this knowledge into your world.
